Why does the buttock area lose shape after weight loss?
The buttocks are one of the areas where volume loss and sagging are most noticeable after major weight loss: excess skin makes the area look deflated and undefined, even when the rest of the body already shows good results from diet and exercise.
Is it the same as butt augmentation?
Not necessarily. Butt augmentation focuses mainly on adding volume (with implants or fat grafting). A butt lift, on the other hand, focuses first on removing excess skin and repositioning existing tissue to correct sagging. Depending on the case, these two goals — lifting and adding volume — may or may not be combined; that decision depends on each patient's anatomy and expectations, and is defined during evaluation.
Can it be combined with other procedures?
It's common for a butt lift to be planned alongside other body contouring procedures (such as liposuction of nearby areas), especially when the patient is looking for more comprehensive correction after major weight loss. This joint planning is part of the initial evaluation at HENKO, not a last-minute decision.
Recovery
Recovery involves specific positioning restrictions (avoiding sitting directly on the treated area for the time indicated by the surgeon), a compression garment, and close monitoring of healing. Return to physical activity happens gradually and always under medical guidance.
